This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you visit rhoadslawgroup.com (the βSiteβ), use our online chat, submit our contact forms, or otherwise communicate with us electronically.
This Policy is designed to comply with applicable Florida law, including the Florida Information Protection Act of 2014 (Fla. Stat. Β§ 501.171), and with the Rules Regulating The Florida Bar concerning confidentiality and lawyer advertising.
Last Updated: July 15, 2026.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide Directly
- Contact & Consultation Forms: name, phone number, email address, the type of case you select, and the description of your legal matter you choose to share.
- Website Chat: messages you type into the chat window, along with your name and contact details if you provide them. The chat is operated by our vendor Hona (see Section 3).
- Phone & Email: information you share when you call, text, or email the Firm.
- Client Matters: if you become a client, additional information (identification, medical records, financial records, case documents) is collected under a signed representation agreement and is governed by attorney-client privilege and Florida Bar confidentiality rules β protections stronger than this Policy.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Analytics Data (Google Analytics 4): pages visited, time on page, approximate geographic region (city-level), device and browser type, referral source, scroll depth, clicks on outbound links, and engagement with embedded videos.
- Server Logs: our web server records standard technical logs (IP address, request URL, timestamp, browser signature) for security and troubleshooting.
- Cookies & Similar Technologies: small files used to keep analytics sessions consistent and remember basic preferences. You can decline or delete cookies in your browser settings; the Site remains usable without them.
1.3 What We Do NOT Collect Through the Site
- We do not ask for Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, medical records, or financial account details through the website, forms, or chat. Please do not submit such information online; it will be requested through secure channels if you become a client.
- We do not use the Site to make automated decisions about you, and we never sell personal information to anyone.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Responding to Your Inquiry: contact-form and chat submissions are used to evaluate your potential matter and respond to you β this is the sole primary purpose of the information we collect online.
- Follow-Up Communications: by submitting a form or chat inquiry with your phone number, you consent to the Firm contacting you about your inquiry by phone, email, or text message. Message and data rates may apply; reply STOP to opt out of texts at any time.
- Site Improvement: aggregated analytics show us which pages and resources visitors find useful.
- Security & Legal Compliance: server logs help us detect abuse; records are maintained as required by Florida law and Bar rules.
- Marketing (existing contacts only, with consent): occasional firm news or legal updates, with a working unsubscribe link in every message.
Important β No Attorney-Client Relationship: submitting a form or using the chat does not create an attorney-client relationship. However, consistent with Florida Bar guidance, we treat prospective-client communications as confidential and use them only to evaluate and respond to your inquiry.
3. Service Providers & Third Parties
We share information only with service providers who help us operate the Site and respond to inquiries. Each receives only what it needs:
- Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC): site usage analytics β usage and device data described in Section 1.2.
- Hona: the website chat widget and, for signed clients, the secure case-status portal β chat messages and contact details you enter.
- Email delivery provider: delivers contact-form inquiries to the Firm β the form fields you submit (name, phone, email, case type, message).
- Bunny.net (video streaming): streams the videos embedded on the Site β standard technical data when a video loads or plays.
- Google Maps: the office-location map on our Contact page β standard technical data when the map loads.
- Hosting provider: a private, U.S.-based cloud server that serves the website β server logs described in Section 1.2.
We may also disclose information when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of the Firm and others. We never sell, rent, or trade personal information.
4. Data Security
- All Site traffic is encrypted in transit via HTTPS/TLS.
- Access to inquiry information is limited to Firm attorneys and staff who need it to respond.
- Client-matter files are maintained in systems governed by our professional confidentiality obligations, separate from website systems.
- In the event of a data breach affecting personal information as defined by Fla. Stat. Β§ 501.171, we will notify affected individuals and authorities within the timelines that law requires (generally 30 days).
5. Data Retention
- Inquiry records: retained for up to two years after last contact, then deleted, unless you become a client or the Firm must retain them for conflict-check purposes.
- Analytics data: Google Analytics data retention is limited to 14 months.
- Client files: retained per Florida Bar record-keeping rules and the representation agreement (generally six years after conclusion of the matter).
6. Your Rights & Choices
